i took ielts-academic. writing has 2 parts. first is at least 150 words and the second is at least 250 words. it's an essay type of writing where they give you a specific topic and you write your thoughts about the given topic. practice writing 150 words so you know if you reached the minimum requirements once you're there because counting your words during the actual test is time consuming.
