Hi Everyone,

I'm writing a reference letter for a friend, and I was wondering whether or not the letter I write would be part of a public record. Could someone in the future find this letter?

Also, is there anything I should say or avoid saying in this letter?

Thanks

Nothing is certain in life except death and taxes if you are concerned about someone finding this letter i suggest you don't .Obviously it sounds like you are not comfortable writing this letter . If you do write this letter you are looking for positive things to say about this person and why he/she would be an asset to Canada. You should also include how long you have known this person and your relationship to this person .E.G.boss co-worker bother you get the jest .

That is soooo true...lol, good one...I would say check CIC letter specifications for reference letter. Think in the term of a cover letter: you are trying to convince immigration to accept what you are writing/applying for, its like a marketing tool for your friend: how long have you known him, whats the purpose of your writing, contributing to economy of the certain province, etc.
