To make my application as organized as possible, I numbered each copy of a document, and mentioned the number in a cover letter. For example, my passport copy was A-3, and no explanation was necessary. But a copy of my lease, A-7 (to show intent to return to Canada) required an explanation, I felt, and so I gave the explanation in the cover letter. Thus the VO had only to read the cover letter, find the supporting document-copy easily, and approve my application before lunch!
In reality my wife and I had to go to an interview, but NOT because the application was disorganized (or so I prefer to believe).
