WP-EXT only except PGWP

Hi, I am currently on a study permit and I just finished my course. Since my PGWP was only 1 year and I am an Iranian citizen I decided to apply for the open work permit under special measures for Iranian citizens as that is usually 3 years.

I was confused about whether I’m allowed to work full-time while I wait for a decision. However, I double checked with IRCC that as long as I have applied for a work permit before my study permit expired I’m allowed to work.

It’s important to note that my course required a co-op work permit and so I also have a co-op work permit right now.

I have just received the WP-EXT letter that says I am authorised to continue working under the same conditions as my work permit number that refers to my co-op work permit. However my co op work permit was only for my studies. That technically puts me in a position where I can not work.

What should I do? Would it be wise to send a web form to ircc? If so, what do I say?

Hi, may I know an update from your case?
Hi, I ended up applying for my PGWP as well at the same time. Once I applied for the PGWP, I received a letter allowing me to work full-time for any employer. I received approval for both work permits.

Thanks for the information. Did you stop working when you received the WP EXT referring to your COOP permit? I'm confused because it states conditions from coop permit.

I was just about to start work when I received it. I hadn’t started yet, I quickly applied for PGWP and received the new letter the next day!
You’re welcome!
