I'm not sure if it applies to all cases, but in my email, it told me not to contact the new office until 3 months has passed since your file got transferred.

Buffalo issues the immigrant visa which is why your file has been sent back. You should hear back soon and it should definitely be before June, but who knows with immgration. :-X

In the meantime, you can begin LMO process. The LMO is usually valid for 3 months and may be you will get your PR by then and just ignore it. :D

Thanks maas187! I guess I should email them too. In my GCMS notes I see my file was transferred to Ottawa and is being sent back to Buffalo? lol it's like every application takes a different route somewhere in the whole process.

Now I'm not sure whom to send the case specific inquiry to! will it be Ottawa or Buffalo? I guess Buffalo because I did not receive any correspondence saying that my file was transferred. I just have one question, what should the inquiry say? 'I would like to request a status update on my application xyz please'?

Thanks agaiN!

Yes something like that,

Just state the time you have applied your File number in the subject line. and just a simple update for your status.

By the way Just to be safe, Just get the LMO regardless.

Thank you for all valuable information and personal experience.

My PGWP is expiring in July...would like to do an extension if possible. Wonder if anyone can share their stories on how the extension process/procedure is...all I know is go through LMO but would love to listen to real stories. Thanks a lot.
