Would this be considered a red flag?

Would it be considered a "red flag" to CIC if you were to apply for your permanent residency on the anniversary of living together 1 year to qualify as common law? Even if you and your partner had been together for 2 years total.

No, it happens a lot... Many couples plan residency and extend extended vacations simply to meet cohabitation requirements (sometimes even returning to their home country the day after that 1 year requirement is met)...
CIC understands the obligation to meet this stipulation and receives a good portion of applications sent out at or very close to that one year mark (similarily many applications submitted as soon as the wedding certificate and pictures arrive for married spouses). As long as the evidence supporting both the common-law claim, and the genuine-ness of the relationship are valid and sufficient, you shouldn't be redflagged for applying at one year exactly..

Ok thanks. I just don't want to give them any reason to question the genuineness of our relationship.
