Hi guys,

Quick questions, do you think that the economical situation will increase the number of applications for Permanent Residence or decrease? Just curious because it would have an impact on waiting time.

It depends. Since the econmical slow down is worldwide, if somebody has a secure job at home, they will probably not consider immigrating to Canada right now. If they on the other hand lose their job or think they might lose their job and the slow down is worse in their country than in Canada, they might be more likely to apply.

if government workers are affected at embasies due to cutbacks it may cause a slower processing time but aside from that it will depend on individual case if people decide to "run" or 'tough it out" where they are at now.I noticed that the processing times from manila have increased slightly.

Hope not, as the family reunion must not have anything to do with skilled workers
