I have received an ITA from CIC, with a score of 464 but need the help of experts on this forum or people with similar situation, for me to decide on my Canada PR application.

Background:
I am a single applicant (not married 31 year old, have good IELTS scores, a great 5+ year long career in Tech Consulting with big strategy consulting global firms in India), MBA etc to fetch me ITA. Have all the documentation for myself.

Family History:
This is a little blotchy since my dad had a successful financial firm in the late 90s, then he faced some financial losses as a result his investors filed cases against the firm and he being the owner had to fight a long battle on this front since the last 15+ years now. He still has got multiple cases to look into for alleged financial fraud like check bouncing, cheating etc. Also since this was a big firm at the time, it has been spoken about in the media too sometimes. All this has been a long drain on the family and our financial situation since these cases have sucked up a lot of energy, time and money with no decision whatsoever. So he is now a 60 yr old man and all his life went away fighting these battles. So recently he has started pleading guilty for them, just to end them somehow, with some convictions coming through lately.

Now, I want to understand if this will have a bearing on my candidature for PR. Although, he isn't the one intending to immigrate to Canada. I have no relation with his cases since i was a minor when all this started and even today I am not handling any of his legal matters. I have a completely different career stream and a clean background.

If anyone can suggest if this is a big NO or maybe know a way forward then please let me know. The reason being that I do not want a rejection on the visa, I'd rather decline the invitation and not proceed with the Visa.

I concur. This should not negatively impact your PR application. Canada is not one of the countries that "visit the sins of the fathers on the children"...

Thanks both @zardoz and @mr.preetsingh , really appreciate the quick response on this. Do you think I should mention this in the LOE or collect any evidence for non-involvement? [Although me being a minor at that time explains it anyway]

Why would you even want to mention that? That has nothing to do with you. You are simply looking for ways to have your application rejected. I think it's true that some people don't like good things to come their way and will find every means necessary to repell them. You are one of them.
