Would coronavirus unemployment payments affect my future immigration profile?

Hi all.

I am a resident of Ireland and a citizen of Kazakhstan. Soon I will be temporarily laid off from my job due to coronavirus crisis, and I am planning on using the emergency programme of covid19 unemployment payments which was introduced recently specifically to address people like me and this crazy pandemia.

However, as I almost finished preparing all of my documents for express entry, I was wondering if a record that I was getting social welfare will affect my immigration chances in the future in any way? I just do not want them to assume that I am a potential burden to their state in Canada.

Please advise

Hi!
First of all, in your Permanent residency application you are not required to show that you ever applied for any unemployement payments or other benefints. Among some other things, you show only work experience and education that you have and that shows that you're a highly skilled potential immigrant who can easily adapt and settle in Canada. Secondly, it is an exceptional situation all over the world, in Ireland, in Kazahstan and in Canada itself. Lives of many people are affected by COVID-19 and IRCC would less likely punish anybody for being hit by this crisis.
