Hey,
I am Sushmita from Pune, India. I am planning to do a pgdip in international business or finance from Canada. I have spoken to Edwise, but would like to get some good and valuable information from others as well, especially students already studying in Canada. I still have one more year to go before I start applying to different colleges and unis. The answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1. Is it easy to get a part time job once I start studying in a college. ( I am planning to study in Seneca as of now.)

2. If I do two one year pgdm will I still get a 3 year work permit?

3. What is a better option, staying on campus or off campus? (considering not just the rent but also electricity, food, internet, heating etc., in case of rented premises)

4. Is it easy to get a job after I do my pgdm?

5. Is the pgdm recognized anywhere else in the world apart form Canada?

I know these are lots of questions, but all the help will be appreciated.
Thank you. :)

Regards,
Sushmita

1. Depends on what u want to do but u have to study for 6 months first then apply for a work permit or apply for a job on campus don't need a permit for that.

2. No you must do a2+ yr program to get it

3. For me it was cheaper off campus then again I was renting a room rent was a bit cheap u don't usually pay for electricity water etc

4. Depends on your program

5. Yes

Thank you so much.
Like I said, I plan on doing a pgdm in international business or finance. Any idea about the jobs in these fields?
Also, how will I find a rented house before I enter Canada?

Job Offer........

Try http://www.kijiji.ca/

I suggest that you should book a hotel for 1 week and use this time to find a decent residence when you arrive in Canada.

The answer to 1 and 2 are wrong

1 - According to the new rule you will be eligible for off campus part time work from day one :)

2 - Also 2 consecutive one year program will give you a 3 year PGWP.

Double check that answer to #1 post the link cause I checked n it says be in school for at least 6 months preceding the date of your application.

2. It's the same thing 2 yr program program 2 consecutive 1 yr program still adds up to 2 yrs.

I suggest the person asking the questions call cic just to make sure.
