I am going to apply for immigration and worried about medical exam results since I was a cancer patient almost 4.5 years ago, got operations and radiotheraphy and was cured. Under medical observations for 4.5 years after theraphy and shows no sign of cancer revisit. Besides, I am unlucky to have athlete's foot (contagious skin disease) but got medication currently.

I am worried that I will not pass the medical exam because I learnt that applications for permanent residence will not be accepted if that person’s health:
•is a danger to public health or safety; or
•would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada.

Is my cured cancer and athlete's foot a hinder from passing the medicals? I'm really hoping that somebody could reply to me and give light. Thank you in advance. God bless us all!

#2 is your potential problem (cause excessive demand on health or social services).

I see that one of your options is to apply through the spousal program. This is definitely what you should do. If you apply through the spousal program, you cannot be refused due to reason #2. If you apply through one of the skilled worker programs, you can be refused for this reason.

Thanks Scylla.

Yes, I am considering to apply through the spousal program and worry that my athlete's foot and cured cancer is a problem. Do I have to wait until my athlete's foot is completely cured before I do the medical exam??

Hi,

Shared my personal case. I was cancer survivor too and scheduled to visit the embassy in april for our visa stamping. So please go ahead and do your medical. Nothing to worry about it. Athlete's foot that is easy...
God bless and PLEASE, no doubt you will be approved so go ahead

The medical exam is a big worry for some people. From what I have read, the results do not seem consistent which is very upsetting for people.
