Experts,
I need your opinion. My current work-permit expires on December 21, 2011. I just received my LMO papers (1 year) by fax today. The new LMO opinion is valid till Jan 1st, 2012 (My understanding is that I need to apply for my work-permit using this LMO before Jan 1st). I figured out from the CIC site that it takes roughly about 80 days for a work-permit application to get processed. Even if i were to make an online application tomorrow, there is very little chance of getting it approved before Dec 21st. So, is there any point in me applying right-away? The reason why i am asking this question is because, my PR application (federal skilled category) is in process and going strictly by the processing times, a decision on my case can be expected by the end of next year. But, as it turns out, for my PR application to get approved, I still need to have a valid work-permit at the time of issuance. So, i am trying to delay it by a couple of months. Does anyone find this advisable?
Thanks
