Hey everyone.

I was wondering how working in Canada works once someone gets accepted. Once you have PR are you allowed to start working like a normal Canadian citizen? Or do you need to apply for anything else before you're able to work?

All you have to do is apply for a SIN number once you land and that is all you need to do to be able to work

Yes that’s correct. It only takes 20-25 business days if you do it by mail

If there is no line, it only takes 5-10 minutes to get a SIN in a Service Canada office.

Yeah, this is if you're landing at Toronto Pearson. Otherwise, there are service Canada offices in every reasonably sized town across Canada.
