How accurate do i need to be with employment dates? I have a few part time jobs from when I was a student in Ireland. Would I also have to include part time summer jobs that I worked in the USA? I will struggle to get exact dates for these - even exact to the month would be difficult. Would it affect my application if i'm off by a month or two on certain dates?

You need to include the jobs. IRCC isn't going to verify the dates, so put down you best guess if you can't remember exactly.

I dont know how acurate you have to be, i just knew my dates but im sure they will allow a bit of leeway so long as they dont think your just lying.Maybe they dont check everyones but they did for mine

The only way to really check the dates is to contact your former employers or request proof of your former jobs. IRCC does not do this for applicants in spousal sponsorship apps because work experience is irrelevant.

yes it does if your applying for OWP

No, they don't. Previous work experience is also irrelevant to the OWP, as it is issued solely on the basis of submitting an inland app.
ok well you are wrong. So you dont have to give education details either? Why do you have to give employment history when applying for an IEC visa?It is an open work permit too, OWP is only availible to Spousal applications but its still has nothing to do with your pr app so i dont know where you get your info but its wrong

??

I never said anything about not providing requested employment information. Let's recap:

- I said that IRCC does not verify dates of previous employment
- you said IRCC did for your app
- I said IRCC would need to contact employers and request further employment proofs to check dates and they don't do that because it is irrelevant to the app
- you said they check the dates for the OWP

IRCC did not contact your employers or verify your previous work dates or experience in any way. Again, the OWP available to inland applicants is issued based SOLELY on the fact that the inland PR app has been submitted, so yes, it most definitely has something to do with the PR app. I have no idea why you are bringing up IEC, though FYI, IRCC does not verify employment dates for IEC permits either.

My information comes from the IRCC website and 5 years of advising on this forum. Where does yours come from?

my info comes from IRCC contacting my previous employers to verify employment and dates

Lol, yeah right.

I'll leave it to OP and anyone else reading this thread to decide for themselves who is correct.
