Hi all,

I am a kind of confused regarding the working hours accumulation. For example I have work experience almost 2400 hours in a same NOC type A but in 3 different organizations. For example, 2 paid internships for 9 months, RA job for 6 months and full time job for 5 months (where I currently working). So can I also write that I have more than 1 years of work experience? Can I also eligible for express entry? Please help me out. Thank in advance.

Hi,

It’s not a Canadian work experience. I gained these experiences in Germany and Austria.

These are the requirements. You can find them in this article.

Your skilled work experience must be:

• in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation)
• within the last 10 years
• paid work (This means you must have been paid wages or earned commission. Volunteer work or unpaid internships don’t count.)
• at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week). You can meet this in a few different ways:
  • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
  • equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
  • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

Yes I have read the post. But for me the thing that I do not have any continuous work exp. For example, I did my RA and paid internship in a consecutive way for 8 months. After 3 months gap, I started a new full time paid internship for 7 months. That’s why I am asking that can I accumulate all the hours that I have achieved??

The three month gap is too long and means your experience is not continuous. You'll need to wait until you have at least 1 full year of continuous work experience before you can apply.

You need at least 1 year of continuous work before the rest of your experience would be counted. So wait until you complete 1 year at your current job.
