I am working in canada on a closed work permit ( CWP ) for my employer.

My permit is valid till September 2014. If I quit the job do i need to leave the country OR I can stay in CANADA and look out for other job oppotunity?

Need to know how it works in case of CWP.

Thanks for the responses.

1. If you quit, you can remain until your work permit expires. You can't start work for a new employer without a new LMO and a new work permit.

Thanks for the answer .. but i have been told i need to change the visa type to visitor and then only I can stay in CANADA until the work permit expires.

Not necessary... you are a WORKER and have just quit the job.... You can stay till your WP expiry and look out for another job... BUT, till you get another WP, you cannot work legally....

Good luck...
