Hi everyone, my name is Estuardo Dacaret I currently live in Guatemala and I'm in the final process of getting my permanent residency. Since my wife is Canadian I did the outland family sponsorship. Recently they requested my passport which I sent a few days ago so I guess they'll probably send it back in about a month with my visa to enter Canada.

With my wife and kids (ages 6,5 and 4) we are planning on going to Calgary around early November. My question is should I start looking at jobs right now while I'm in Guatemala? Should I start applying or should I just wait till I'm there? How should I proceed with my job and how to look and find one?

Appreciate the help

thank you

Kind of difficult to answer when you did not state what you do or want to do for a living :)

I graduated in marketing and have been working as a brand manager for the past 8 plus years
Ok, honestly I think you are too early to apply for anything.
It absolutely will not hurt to look, and drop some lines to people, and use LinkedIn as a resource, but in a lot of cases the hiring process from job posting date to offer made is often two to four weeks end to end so I think its early yet.

If you have in mind some companies you would like to work for, it would not hurt to reach out and let them know when you would be available...do some networking, etc.
