Hi All,

Thanks a lot for your excellent replies and post.
I am replying to this post as my condition appears to be same as rupesh.

I am a PR living working in montreal and in process of sponsoring my wife from India.
I have couple of questions. Will be glad if you can throw out some information regarding my questions.

I remember reading the post , that suggestion had been given to submit medicals medicals (before you submitted the PR sponsor visa). When I am finding that information for the same, it is written that visa office will let you know for appearing for a medical exam.

I did not quite get how to approach a designated doctor(cic approved) without a letter from visa office.
Can you please elaborate on the same when you get a chance.
• What we need to tell the doctor (any documents/photo taken along?)
• How will the results be handed over(to us or to embassy ?)
• But since the file is not open yet how will the embassy know?

I read somewhere saying IELTS is a new requirement for the PR. Does it also apply with a sponsorship application as well?

Thanks,
Mickey

You can tell the doctor that you are doing a pre medical for spousal application. You need to take Appendix C form filled. Please check for other requirements with the doctor.
Once the medicals are done, they will give a signed copy which you need to attach with your application. The doctor will send the results and a copy similar to what they gave you to the embassy you choose.

I dont think IELTS is needed for spousal sponsorship. But since you are living in Montreal and you plan to live there you also need to apply for CSQ and am not sure whether they need french. Please check other Quebec specific threads.

1. There is no longer an appendix C. IMM 1017B: Upfront Medical Report: Client Biodata and Summary (not available on our website as panel physicians will have these forms in their office. With the implementation of the new IMM 1017B, Appendix C will no longer be required)

For full instructions see: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob471.asp

Wow experts. That would suffice.

As long as the sponsor spouse has language effeciency(i had to do french assesment when obtaining my csq) , i do not see any french requirement for the applicant. Anyhow I will check other thread's and update this blog if it is required.

So, I assume I should just call the doctor designated and ask the doctor for any documents(passport/photo) I should bring along with me for an upfront medical check up.

Thanks,
mickey

Hi experts.
I got from most of the forum the same answer.
"Not only is there no French requirement for spousal sponsorees, as a new QC immigrant you are eligible for free French classes. So really don't worry about that aspect. You will find French useful for everyday life, but there is no immigration issue for spouse sponsorship."

Experts,

I was filling out the form for immigration (applicant forms)
The question for CSQ ?

I live in montreal. I have a CSQ. I am also going to apply for my wife. WHat shall I answer that column?
It gives option of Yes/No. If i say Yes it ask me for a date.

I read the guide and it says if i live in quebec the CIC will send my file once approved to quebec immigration automatically.
Any pointers what i should fill in these columns will be of great help.

Thanks.

Xperts - Few more questions.

I am trying to fill IMM0008 application for my wife, stuck here. There is a question (Number 7) asking about a) Have you received your certificate de selection du quebec (CSQ) yes or no. If yes indicate the number, if no when did you apply for your CSQ ? Didn't really get it.

Also what is UCI ? My wife is in India now, what she needs to fill in that UCI column ?

One more thing is in Page 3, it says DEPENDANT(S) with full of details and there is a blue button which says 'remove dependent'. Since my wife is coming alone, we are newly married no kids for us. Can I go ahead and remove that using remove dependent button ?

Thanks in advance...

Rupesh

1. Are you moving to Quebec? If not, ignore it.

2. UCI leave blank, you won't get that until you have stage one approval.

3. Yes.

Hi experts,

I am stuck at the same place. But my case is different. Yes I am in quebec and will be bringing my wife to quebec,. Please advice

Hi,
I am a Canadian Permanent resident. I am about to get married in January. Just wondering how long it takes for my wife to get here. If I apply for her permanent residence in New Delhi, India. Is it after the step 1 is complete that is 44 days as indicated on cic or after both step one and 2 are complete which is 15 months as says on Canadian consulate Indian website.

Hi

It is after both steps. Note that the 15 month time given by CIC is not an average, it's how long it took to process 80% of apps; most are done faster than that, some much faster.
