Hi guys!

I need some help. Here are the background details. I and my boyfriend have been in Canada for a little under 11 months now on a working holiday visa and we want to extend our stay here. I´m going to apply for PR as a Skilled worker in FSW within Canada. My application is almost ready to send, I´m just waiting for my IELTS results. My boyfriend is going to apply for open-work permit as my common-in-law partner.
We´ve realized that the processing time will be very long and we are little bit confused because we don´t know if we can legally work while we will be waiting for decision. I know I´m doing this at the last minute! I just hope that there is anyone who could help me with any information! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Unfortunately IEC programs do not benefit from implied status, so I'm afraid not. Some people have continued working and didn't have any issues as they didn't get caught, others, including two I personally know, had their applications cancelled and were sent back home. Personally (and I am a PR applicant whose IEC expired), I wouldn't risk it unless there were real survival issues at hand.

I have to add however that if you had received the initial approval for the FSW before your current Status (IEC work permit) expired, you could apply for a bridged work permit. Not sure if you'd have enough time for that though

I thought you had to be in a skilled trade for a year before you can apply for PR?

Yes - you need at least a year of work experience. But that work experience doesn't have to be in Canada. It's entirely possible the OP has previous experience in her home country.

I have over than 5 years experience in marketing management from my country. I´ve met all condition for Federal skilled worker program. However, there is no possibility to extend our WH visa so I am looking for opportunity how to legally work while I will be waiting for PR.
