I beg to differ on not "breaking the law" with @scylla - OP may not be breaking the law, but his employer might, given the large and complicated set of employer compliance rules with LMIAs. If anything his boss needs to get legal advice on whether it's okay to:
  • Provide an LMIA to import a worker into Canada
  • Worker gets PR on landing
  • Worker goes back home shortly after and works remotely
That doesn't sound right to me at all.

Where he would be clearly breaking the law is if during the application process (in particular, for PNP & OINP) that his resettlement plans aren't genuine.

To be honest what I am actually a bit puzzled at is why an employer would help OP go through this whole immigration ordeal, only for them to not be physically present in Canada or the office where the job is to be performed. You probably need to be some very incredible human/world-famous exec/Elon Musk to get opportunities like this.

Feel free to share who this company is - I'd like to apply if they want to give me an LMIA for an Express Entry profile and are cool with me flying around the world so I can work remotely!
