worker asked me to mail original PR cards, is this normal?

hello all

my children are PR of canada. (I had sponsored them.)
and applied for citizenship a few months ago,
I received a letter from the citizenship worker telling me to send the originals of the PR cards.
i found this strange, what would you advice?
