Work visa to PR transision

Hi,

I am still waiting to get my ECA done. I know that I have a long path ahead of me to get a PR through express entry. My question is if I get a work visa and land in Canda, will I still be able to continue the express entry process and get a PR? Or does my PR application become invalid and there is a different path for citizenship/PR for folks with a work permit?

It's the same process.

However, after one year of experience in Canada, you will get whole bunch of points for that. But if you have enough points already, no difference.

Thanks @Hopeful007 So, my employer does not need to know that I have a PR application in process? I can just process the PR personally and have my employer just apply for my work visa right?

Hello everyone... need some advise/ guidance

I have been in Canada for a year now on a work visa....I was told that after completing one year, i am eligible to apply for PR. Is there anyone in the group who cam to Canada on a work permit and got it converted to PR?

How long does it usually take to get the PR status once an application is approved and ITA received? my consultant told me it takes approx 1 year so just want to make sure if that's the case. Thank you.

Are you on a closed work permit? You can claim 50 points if on the permit and your employer gives job offer for one year after receiving PR. What is your CRS score? Do you have language results?

I am on a permanent job position having been internally transferred by my employed from UAE to Canada in Dec 2019. My current CRS score is 483 after including my one year Canadian job experience and language skills etc. I have an open work permit.

Do you have a LMIA? If so you can claim points with the job offer of one year past receiving PR.
