Hello friends ,

I am new to this forum, this is my first post ...

I am typing my work reference letter in which my boss expressed his willingness to sign whatever letter i write. I did google some stuff and still not sure if my letter is ok or not. Could any of you plz have a look at it? I will be happy to receive any comments ...

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

This is to certify that Mr Ali Shaeb is an employee of XXXX since the 15th of February 2013 to date. Mr Shaeb has been working full time (80 hours per week) on the post of Telecommunications Engineer at different company locations with several duties.

[I work 12 hours a day for two weeks and then two weeks off, how do I write that? I added the whole working hours in two weeks then devided by 30 days then multiplied by 7 days it equals to 40].

Telecom Systems Support Engineer 15th Oct/ 2015 – present
Telecom Acting Coordinator 1st May/2014 – 15th Sept/2015
Telecom Systems Support Engineer 22nd Feb/2013-29th April/2014

During his service, he has been carrying out the following duties (how can I write that I had different duties?)
o Monitor assigned networks and telecommunications systems to assess need for updates, upgrades, enhancements and preventive maintenance.
o TETRA : Installation, Maintenance and Repairing of Trunked Repeaters , HH, fixed radio, and RF Antennas (VSWR). Operations and Maintenance of the Rohde & Schwarz TETRA Network Elements ( TOS, COS, SRM etc.). Creation of Radio Subscriber, Groups, Workstations and Clients. Performed Health Check Activities & Preventive Maintenance routines.
o SDH: Cable and connecting hardware including splices and connectors, optical link loss and budget analysis; Remote management SDH network, based on Alcatel's equipments. Responsible for troubleshooting and rectification of faults related to Backbone Transmission Network. Installation, testing and cutovers of Alcatel SDH equipment. Services creation and modifications at E1,STM-1 level. Optimization of the network by checking and keeping track for service configurations while keeping in view the future requirements. Preventive and corrective maintenance on monthly basis.
o Evaluate new products and services from vendors to determine applicability to hardware, software, networks and telecom systems.
o Member of the MPLS/IP Technical Proposal Evaluation Team that is responsible for provision of pipeline telecom transmission system upgrade, determine the acceptability, compliance and completeness of the bidders response included in technical bids, evaluating the bidder understanding of the Scope of Work, and prepares evaluation and recommendations report that transmitted to ICT Dep Manager.
o Coordinates with representatives of company departments, and other field installations to plan for the expansion, installation and maintenance of the telecom systems in accordance with the company needs.
o Supervises staff; Plans, schedules, assigns, allocate and evaluates personnel involved in operation, installation, maintenance activities.
o Researches and authorises orders for equipments and services; assigns and reviews work of service technicians, vendors and contractors in order to ensure timely and effective service.
o Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the provision of telecommunications systems.


During this employment Mr. Shaeb starting annual salary was XXXX LYD and [I want to state that it is increasing each year by approximately XXX LYD]

overall it looks fine to me, i wouldnt get into details showing 2 days working 2 days off or whatever you were trying to explain... as long as the letter says full time employee and working 40 hrs a week, that should be fine

regarding salary, just mention your latest salary... you dont have to show salary starting from x going to y, now is z... just latest salary should be sufficient.

if its an engineer - make sure your duties align with the NOC you select...

It seems good, here are some observations:

It would be better if you organize it a little more, Assign each position to its own duties

You ought to add one or two statements that put light on your work ethics and behavior such as : He was energetic or dedicated to work

Take not also that an experience letter issued by your current employer expires normally after one year, you may be asked for a valid one by the visa officer when you get an ITA
