Hey guys..

I want to know that if i do 2 courses of 1 year each in different institutes or colleges, I will then qualify for 3 years work permit or I have to do 2 years course from same institution/college to get the 3 years work permit ?? Studying in same college will qualify me for 3 yrs work permit or its fine if i study 1 year course in 2 different institutes..

one year= 2 semester each semester of 4 months that means 8 months in total.

or

one year= 8 months , one semester only. This 8 months as one semester is very common for colleges.


and so on for 2, 3 and 4 year courses

I don't understand by you will do 2 courses in different colleges . Are you saying that you want to do 1st sem in one institute and 2 sem in another? ....

I think it may be possible if the two institutes which you wish to study in have articulation agreements with each other, like transfer of credits etc .For this you would have to consult both the institutes

Well I am going to Canada in April waiting for my visa. I am going for 1 year course in Vancouver. & they are giving 1 year work permit after that.. I want to do computer programming after that from Sheridan. It will add up in my resume & that course is 16 months long. So after passing both the courses. I will get 1 year work permit, 16 months work permit OR 3 year work permit.. ?? Thatss what in my mind right now.. :/

yes , you will get a 3 year work permit, only if you choose to study after you receive your 1 year work permit you can study in that 1 year ...,in that case after or before graduating from the first institute you would have to extend your study permit for another 1.5 years but you will need admission letter from 2nd college to do that . Then at the end after graduation.. you can get 3 year PGWP.

Well i was going through sheridan site.. Course which i want to opt for has a starting date in jan/sept. & my course will end on 20th april 2012. If i apply for study permit I will get the study permit till the end of my course or i am going to have a break of 4 - 5 months.. :/ coz there is a gap of some months in the end of my first course & the starting date of my next course.. :/ or i can stay in canada in those 4 - 5 months..

hello again ,

a study permit is issued for the duration of studies +90 or 60 days. So in your case april+90 days =august. Your current study permit would be valid up to august 2012 or july 2012.
