Work permit WITH OUT status HELP

Hello!

I have a question: I lost status because my husband and I
Were planning to move to my country so I could be close to my family
So I didn't apply for another extension, The problem was that we had
a spelling error in our marriage certificate and it took 8 months to fix( yes that long)
And then took time to gather documents. Now my husband doesn't wanna move
to my country and I'm long out of status. My question is if I can apply for
a work permit if I'm out of status, I know for sure that if I had status I could
apply for it at the same time with the PR application.

I lost my status for 2 years after i gave birth then my husband applied for my permanent residence sponsorship,and we didn't apply for the work permit at that time but when they approved the sponsonship after the first approval they asked me to apply for open work permit and got it while waiting to finish the processing and now I already landed..

where are you here in Canada?maybe there's some helping house for immigrants that you can ask for free what to do..good luck and wish you the very best..

Hello. Thank for answering.

How long ago did you apply? And were you able to leave the contry or
travel outside Canada with the work permit?.

A inmigration consultant to me that I didn't have to
apply for the work permit but they could sen or it not after the
first estage. And when I called CIC they told me to apply before but I don't
Know of that also works with out status.

There is not a lot of help in Toronto

after the first approval,they gave me an option if I want to apply for study or open work permit while waiting for my approval and also I have daughter overseas so mine is longer than yours..I got my open work last Nov.3,2011 and my PR last May 9,2012.

we didn't try to travel but I'm eager to work..lol.so I don't have clue if you can travel by having just working permit..

The work permit will not allow you to leave the country and re-enter. Once you receive the work permit - you'll see it reads "not valid for re-entry" or something along those lines. All the work permit will allow you to do is work in Canada.
