Hi guys,

My work permit will expire in October 31 2009
The "Labour Market Opinion" said "NO" for my new work permit application and ask my employer for other resumes to prove they need me.
If this resume issue will fail, and the Government of Canada will say NO, what can I do ?
I'm a skilled worker (technician) and I applied for PR at Buffalo in February 2009 and in April 2009 I received the file/processing number.
My PR application is in process but my work permit will expire in a few months.
What can I do ?

Thanks !!!

IF your work permit is not getting extended, then other option would be to find another employer and see if that work permit goes through.

unfortunately, if your work permit doesnt extend then you will have to go to your native country and then follow your PR processing from there on.

you have two options in this case -

1) Retain your visa office as buffalo - you will need US visa to attend an interview if one is required /If you are from India then you will have to come to US /send someone else to get your PR stamped as you cant courier it.

2) Ask for shifting your visa office to your native countrys - this would add additional few months in processing along with additional headache of the transfer process/followups

Thanks,

what category did you apply your PR? how long have you been working for that company? cause if you had 2 years of paid continuous work you can apply for your PR using CEC (CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS) and that will not send you home... but if your PR is already processed, and assuming you didnt get any new WP or extension i think you can try to apply for a tourist visa (wont give you assurance to get approve though but will buy some time for you to stay in canada while your PR is in process) or you can try to apply for a US visa and have a tour or go to your relatives there while your PR is being processed... :D
