Hi
I am French citizen and currently live in Canada with a tourist visa, with my fiancee who is a Canadian citizen. I applied online for a permanent residence through Express entry/skilled immigrant. I got my ITA and I am about to submit the application with all the required documents.
I have few questions please.
- A boarder officer once told me that I can apply for an open work permit while I wait for my PR application. I checked online in my application page (cic website) and every time I start a new application for a work permit (the button saying "apply for study permit/work permit"), after answering questions for eligibility, I always got the result "you seem eligible for a PR visa" and there is no option/no way to ask for a work permit or an open work permit only.
So my question is:
Q1) Is it possible for me to apply for a work permit while waiting for my PR request being processed (it usually takes time and I would like to be able to work)?
- I got reached by a recruiter (I can apply but I cannot work, I understood that a job offer would speed up the PR application process so I applied for jobs in Canada). Then he asked me if I need the company to sponsor me. I was not sure what to say because I already have a PR application and I thought they just have to send me a job offer that I can add to my PR request and that would speed up the process. The job is in Information system services area.
So my questions are
Q2) Do you know if the company has to sponsor me?
Q3) Do you know what the company has to do on its side if they want to work with me?
Q4) Does anybody know how long could the PR process take with a job offer?
- Q5) Does anybody know what kind of diseases are included in the notion of "serious disease" that may be a reason to reject a PR application?
Thank you so much for your help. I do not really want to miss this job opportunity.
Emy
