Hello,
I am an international student in Toronto and currently in my first semester of a 2 year diploma.
I would like to work as co-op/intern so that I can enhance my learning. However, the coop program at my college is very restrictive and I have been told that co-op is not an option for me.
I have checked CIC website (cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-coop.asp) and they can issue me a work permit provided that I provide them a letter from my college stating that work is a required part of my study - and my college will not provide that to me as well.
So is there any other way I can get a work permit to work as intern/coop while I am a student?
