Work Permit to Permanent Resident by Marriage

Hi everyone,

I am on PGWP here in Canada and got married recently to a Canadian permanent resident. I have to travel to my home country to have a marriage ceremony there. I recently applied for TRV so that I can travel back to my country. I now have a marriage license and want to apply for a PR application too. We have been living together for more than 3 months now. Can anybody describe what documents are required and how much time would it take to get my permanent residency? My wife and I both have full time permanent jobs in IT. Any feedback is highly appreciated

Around a year until PR. Do you have a long dating history? Did you have a traditional ceremony? If not I would only apply after a more traditional ceremony.

Around a year until PR. Do you have a long dating history? Did you have a traditional ceremony? If not I would only apply after a more traditional ceremony.

We have been together for almost 4 years now but at the same address for just 3 months(Do have photographs and other proofs if needed). The ceremony was just a formal one and I have got my marriage license yesterday. We have plans to get married in India in January next year. I got my PGWP in June this year. I know I should have applied for TRV right away but I did that starting this month. I just want to be able to travel to India and come back without any issues, I'm in no hurry to get PR.

I have these questions in mind.

1. Would applying for PR without the traditional ceremony make any difference? If PR would take around a year, would I be better off applying for it after the traditional ceremony?

2. Since TRV is taking a couple of months these days, I am just wondering is there something I can do to expedite the process. What are my options if I don't get a request for a passport before my departure to India?

3. The checked the link captianarabiia sent, It has just a couple of IMM forms and other docs like PCC, Biometrics. Wanted to know if I want to apply would these documents suffice? Or application should also include proof of us being together and all?

Thanks in advance guys. I applied myself for my Study Permit, Work Permit, and TRV myself and want to do this myself too but want to be sure about the whole process.
