Hi,

Thought it would be helpful if people applying work permit from India can share their time lines.

I applied on Aug 13th in skilled category.
Status now is "visa been processed in New Delhi Visa office".
It will be great if others can also share their time-line and experience.

I applied for my WP along with my family's (SOWP and Study Permit) on 22 July at CVAC in Delhi. About to be a month and still no request for medicals till now.

Thanks cseeker for sharing.
what is the status it shows when you give tracking number?

It shows that my application is being processed at Canada Visa office Delhi and I should call the VAC helpline for more information. I did call the helpline but they too provide the same status.

The attorney, who helped me in filing this application, told me that in Delhi paper applications take about 2-2.5 months and the ones filed online take about 4 months. The wait continues...

Yes, your attorney is right. But some people are real lucky, they get it in 1 month. But good to prepare for 3 months wait.

Hi Singhsask,

Thank you for posting. I think as per CIC website it takes 20 months (OMG :-\ :o :-\ ). I see this has got recently updated. But, I also see some people who got in less than two months.

Hope you get it soon. May I ask what is your NOC.

Yes, it can't be 20 months and at the same time I am surprised at the time line given by vfs. One of my friend was told that processing would be done in 20 working days.
I just wonder how vfs comes up with these time lines.
If any one got it so quickly, please share here.

I am surprised no one from India.
People are posting OWP details but not work permit details(in other threads).
Incase, I am not following a thread intended for work permits in New Delhi, let me know. I can join.

It will processed as LMIA. I mean you will get it as LMIA.
Approval and rejection criteria is still the same as LMO. But, based on Province and wage your future employer offers, new rules will be applied.

Try reading below link to understand more... http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/reform/restrict.shtml
