Good day everyone!

I have a work permit specific tied to one employer, location, duration, etc. indicated in my permit. I just moved from alberta to another province for a 2 years contract for a new employer. Will i be able to look for a new employer if my work permit is locked?

Need help. Any info will be appreciated. Hope to hear. Thanks!

If you want to work for a new employer - that employer will first have to obtain a new LMIA and then you will have to apply for a new closed work permit. Once that work permit is approved, you can start working for the new employer.

Hi Scylla!

But i have already obtained a new closed work permit here in my new employer where i work as a farm labourer. Which stated there i can only work and stay with them for 2 years. Will it stil apply to me. As you said if i was able to find a new employer i just need to obtain an approved lmia and work permit for that new employer. Then thats the time i can now resigned and moved to my new empkoyer?

Anyway, i really appreciate your time. It's been a great help. Thank you!
