Hi, I also have an open work permit with HCCP Occupation, employer and location is ANY. Is this means that I am not applicable to work in hospitals or any medical field? Even though I am certified caregiver?

Assume you had a medical so can work with children. Since you are in HCCP program then new employer must be employing you for work in the home.

Hello! Thank you for answering my question. I was hoping to work in the hospital/ nursing homes during my freetime. But I guess it's impossible.

Hello, I applied PGWP but haven't received my work permit yet. I didn't do any medical medical prior to application of my PGWP. I recently got a job as IT Network Administrator. My company is described as healthcare and social services organization focuses on providing services for individuals with autism. Do I need a medical exam?

Hi,
I received the same on my work permit- not authorized to work in health field occupations/child care etc. - can anyone confirm if they applied online to change the conditions and how long does it take to get it back ? Also, I work as a research assistant at a children's health research institute, with datasets and research only. I have no contact with any patients or anyone. Do I need to get it changed and how can I confirm?
Please reply.

So.... i was prepared to pay 255$. Work permit and owp fee. Considering that was a new one.
But officer said there is no fee. Didnt paid anything.
Hi,
I am in the same boat. I got PGWP by flagpoling but it has restrictions. I have booked an appointment for upfront medical. I was planning to submit a paper based application to change the conditions but I then I thought if I can flagpole the second time?. Please suggest what to do? Do you know how much it will take for the paper based application ?

Hi all,

I didn’t submit my medical exams with my pgwp application, but I got it approved with no healthcare or education restriction. Does that mean I can work with kids? I think the reason might be 1. my primary occupation isn’t in these field 2. I have an expired medical exam with my study permit application. I do want to tutor kids as a side job. Should I inform anything to IRCC? Or can I just do it since no restrictions?

thank you! Any input will be helpful.

If you don't have any restriction mentioned, you can work. No problem at all. The medical you gave is valid because you didn't leave canada since you arrived here. It only expires when you leave Canada and enter again.

Hello,
Applied for a PGWP on May 8 (my study permit had a healthcare occupation restriction on it).
If I do an Upfront medical now, when PGWP is still in process, would that eliminate any chances of healthcare restrictions on it? Please provide some insight, I appreciate it.

P.S. Been in Canada since 2018 on study permit, so I'm assuming the initial medical is expired cuz it's been 6 yrs.

Hi everyone i am on vulnerable OPEN work permit with medical condition. (Previously i did flagpole and got the closed work permit).
My medical is done and now can i flagpole (peace arch border) and get my conditions uplifted or will they not entertain and ask me to apply online??
i have a letter from IRCC which says the restrictions can be removed by providing a valid medical.
i already waited for 5 months in online processing of vulnerable open WP so i want to get these conditions lifted asap. Because online process may take another 100 days.
NO solid answer following every thread.
anyone who has done this or knows if the border officer can uplift the conditions
please do answer
Much obliged

Hey, flagpoling for Work permits is no more available. This came into effect last week I think. But if you re-apply to change the conditions then you probably go on implied status and could possibly work in the field till you get an answer. Confirm with a lawyer.

1.Wasn’t the flagpoling stopped for PGWP ??
2.Yes but you understand reapplying will take another 100 days. So make it quick i am planning on flagpoling and get it done in 1 day

Hi. I really need your help with this one.
I was an international student and work as a medical administrator. My student permit has the same condition “NOT ALLOWED TO WORK IN HEALTHCARE”. But I remembered submitting my upfront medical when I applied for a student permit.

Now I graduated already and applied for PGWP. (Currently on implied status).
I got an offer in healthcare as PSW and I need to start working.
I redid another upfront medical before I applied for PGWP this year.

(I spoke with different lawyers. And they said I can start working because my student permit’s condition was an error of an immigration officer. Knowing that I had upfront medical for that.)

Is there anyone has the same experience as mine?
what did you do?
What do you think I should do?
