WORK PERMIT RESTORATION/ CLOSED LETTER/ ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS/

Hi everyone
i need your help i am in great distress at the moment. I have applied for my work permit received on Jan 23 2013 sent thru paper mail. the other day i called CIC and they informed me that they sent me a letter in the mail but it is a closed letter. The agent said that its not refusal letter might be asking for additional documents. Now my question is has anyone experienced this before like asking for additional documents or a closed letter from CIC. I am so anxious to know what would it be... this long wait is really putting me down. have not been working for nearly 5 months. ( Pls help me GOD!!

I don't have personal experience, but it is not uncommon for CIC to request additional documents. Has it been long since the letter was sent?

You may want to contact the visa office/processing centre to inform them you did not receive the letter and ask them to resend. Also, consider ordering your GCMS notes. It will tell you why the letter was sent and what's in it/being requested.

Assuming you are in Canada, apply for it under "Privacy Act" - it's free and takes about 30 calendar days to receive.
