Work permit/ resident visa for spouse of international student

Hi Friends
My husband is doing a master's course in Canada. He went in August. Now I would like to join him. I was told I'm eligible for a work permit as he's a student. What visa should I apply for - open work permit or temporary resident visa? I plan to work there. Also, we have a three-year-old son. What visa should I apply for him? And should I show some funds? If so, how much?

Hi Nitya

Please apply for Visit Visa only for both of you. visitor visas may not be issued if its your intention to immigrate.
You have to show that you have sufficient ties to return.
