Hi, i just have some question about my work permit, temporary resident permit and how to get a new visa to re-enter canada.

My situation is this, when i first came in canada this jan. 2009, i was given a Work permit and a TRP which will expire at the same date as my passport on feb. 18, 2010. what i did next is renew my passport and re-apply for the extension of my Work permit and TRP until the end of my contract. so sent them the documents that has been needed like the LMO, Job Offer Agreement and etc...which i already had before since i just extended the length of my stay here without changing the employer or anything...just extention... so my question is, Did I do the right thing?

Another thing is the TRV...Before, i was just given by the canada immigration manila a single-entry visa to canada before which is already expired last july...and my employer wants to go visit the philippines next year and they want me to come with them since i am the caregiver of their 2 kids...but the problem is, if i go with them to the philippines, i won't be able to enter canada again coz i don't have a valid working visa anymore. So, anyone please give me ideas on how to figure this things out...tnx

1. I assume you don't have a TRP (old Minister Permit) that is issued to people who are inadmissible to Canada.
2. Applying to Vegreville to extend your work permit was the right move. Your work permit should be extended to 2011 (2 years from the date of entry)
3. You can apply by mail to one of the Canadian offices in the US for a new TRV once you have the extended work permit and new passport. Here are the instructions for Buffalo, they are the same for the other 5 offices. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/visa_temp.aspx?lang=eng
