My husband is currently in canada for 8 months attending school. I reside in Jamaica with our 2 children, I applied for both visitor visa and work permit so that we could visit my husband and assist him financially. We were sponsored by my husband along with his parents who also resides in Canada over 15 thousand Canadian but our visa was refused on the basis that I have limited employment possibilities in my country, I do not have significant family ties outside of Canada and my financial situation is insufficient. Can anyone please advise what can I do to visit my husband?

WP and SOWP are not guaranteed for families of international students. You typically need over 6 month left on your studies to even qualify for an OWP. What is your husband studying and how much has he completed of the program? Is the 15k liquid savings for your husband? Since you have a family you should be able to show your own funds to support your stay. 15k is not a lot if that is also what your husband is using to complete his studies. When he is working in NOC 0,A and B and applying for his PGWP or has received his PGWP you can reapply for SOWP and a study permit for any children that will be 4 or older and TRV for younger children. Your husband may have to visit you in Jamaica until you are able to come to Canada.
First I must say thank you for your response. His mother has a PR and his father is now a Canadian citizen. My husband is studying engineering which will be completed December of this year and the 15k is liquid savings that all 3 of them has together after where my husband tuition fee is completely paid for. I noticed where you said seeing I have my own family I should be able to show my own funds, can you suggest about how much funds would I need to show along with what they have so I can be prepared for any further applications?
Clarifying that as a family with 2 children you should be able to show your own family funds versus being dependent on parents. If he and his parents are dependent on 15k to support their living costs then that is why there are concerns about your finances. Having children in Canada is very expensive. Did his parents get status through sponsorship from another child? Assume they got PR after your spouse was 22. When does his program end? If he is in Canada for 8 months he shouldn’t be graduating in December or perhaps his course is starting in May. It is unusual to enter Canada so early because you can’t work until your studies start on a study permit. Unfortunately it will likely be quite difficult to come to Canada given your limited savings while your husband is studying. When he gets a job in NOC 0, A or and applied for PGWP or gets PGWP then you have a much better chance of getting an SOWP and study permits or TRVs for the children based on their age. You will need to show some savings to qualify. You must show that you can support yourselves even through emergencies like a job loss.
His studies started in September/2021. He was studying online then entered Canada in may/2023. Yes he will be graduating in December. His dad originally went on a work permit and worked his way up from there which he is now a Canadian citizen and his wife a PR. Yes they obtained their PR after my husband passed 22 years old. My children are 8 year old and 4 months old
So your husband has not entered Canada yet if he is entering in May 2023. With a family and children age 8 and 4 you and your husband are usually expected to show your own savings. You will eventually need to apply for a study permit for your 8 year old and a TRV for your infant. Are his parents both working full-time. Do they have a large enough home to house all of you and are they in a financial position to provide free housing for your family? If they only have 15k in savings at their age they aren’t in a position to support your whole family because they don’t have a cushion themselves for any big emergencies or major costs like home repair, car repair or new car, etc. and have minimal retirement savings. Realistically you will likely have to wait until next year to join your husband.
Sorry....he entered may/2022 so he has been there for 8 months so far but I totally understand what you are saying. We will just have to work on the financial part and try again
