I am on visitor visa to canada from india. I am 55, (having heavy truck driver license holder from last 10 years). I fond a truck driver job in canada.is it necessary to get LAMIA in your past occupation as in your home country???
Can my work visa be approved?? Age or occupation change does matter in visitor visa conversion to work permit. Guide pls.

Yes, it's necessary for your employer to get an approved LMIA in order for you to qualify to apply for a work permit.

As long as you have related work experience and also have the appropriate Canadian license, you can certainly be approved for the work permit. However the first step is for your employer to get the approved LMIA.

If you have no experience as a truck driver then it makes no sense to apply for a truck driver work permit. The chances of refusal will be extremely high. You shoudl focus on getting a job that is directly related to your past work experience and/or education.
