I saw a June 30 SOWP application approval on Nov 29. Not sure if they have started working on SOWP for July applicants. All approvals from July are for PGWP.

Absolutely.

I really don't understand how they can process similar outside of Canada applications in a month, where they have to perform few extra steps (BC, medical etc). For the same inland applications they need 170 days. That's ridiculous.

No, it's not. I came to Canada on a closed work permit through my employer.
