Work permit - please help!!!

Hello all,

One of my friend applied for work permit online, it got approved and CIC mailed it on 2nd of January. Its been 12 business days that it didn’t get delivered. She is very worried as she has to travel urgently and need to get temporary resident visa too.
Now she is planning to apply for replacement work permit.
How long will it take?
And is there any option that she can get it from border?
Please please let me know.

For the work permit, I will suggest putting a call to CIC helpline, they will be able to tell when it's likely to arrive. I believe it usually takes 2-4 weeks. For the TRV, she can apply online. The processing is sitting at 17 days from inside Canada.

Is your friend travelling to the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon after applying for a TRV? If your friend has a valid work permit before travelling, she may be eligible to apply from oversee, if applicable. Most foreign nationals will be required to obtain a TRV when travelling to Canada except when exempted.

What type of work permit was it ? If she has to travel urgently , I'm confused . Why haven't they applied for a TRV already?

She will be travelling to India in march. And her work permit just got approved on 2nd jan which is not delivered yet to apply for TRV.
We were thinking to get the copy of work permit at border? Is this possible and safe to do?

Its open work permit applied through cic. Her work permit didn’t get delivered yet due to which she cannot apply for TRV. She need hard copy for it.

She doesn't need the hard copy to apply for a TRV. She can apply now

She can upload the approval instead. The VO can verify the work permit approval in the system.
