No, my pgwp was expiring and since it cannot be extended, only option I had was to apply for a visitor visa.

No problem man ! anyway we will have to do something in april or end of march only then I will no in what direction does our case go, since our PGWP expires in May 2016. Funny thing is employer says he they can do everything but no LIMA and god knows how does that help. And AINP is the other worst thing that can happen to all the applicants who applied as no one knows what is their motto.
