Work Permit: Online and Port of Entry allowed??

I submitted my work permit application online, but it looks like it won't go through before I need to start my job. Would it be possible for me to get a work permit at the port of entry (I am a US citizen), or will having the online application disqualify me from double submission? Will I be able to withdraw my online application and apply the fee they already took out of my credit card to pay for a POE work visa? Please help!

You can apply at a POE on entry, pay the $155 and then request a refund for the on line application.

So it won't be an issue if there is an online application already lodged? I am in a similar situation as sandyc although am an Australian citizen.

I'm about to enter Canada in the same situation. US Citizen, applied for WP online, it's not going to come through in time. Were you able to get your WP at the POE??
I'm really nervous so if you have time to answer this, I'd really appreciate it!
