Hey guys

I applied for my work permit together with the spousal sponsorship and it just got approved. Did some googling but couldn't exactly figure out what's happening next.

Am I getting something sent home? What about a SiN number?

Thank you for answering.

I just read that if you are approved for an actual permanent resident, you wouldn't need a work permit. (I could be wrong)

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=679&top=17

Also for a SIN number, you can apply online, mail or in person though there are different wait times apparently

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/apply.html

I was told you have to land before you can get to apply for the SIN.

Hope that helps and please check the sources yourself to verify this information.

The work permit is not needed when you get the permanent residency but congrats you can now work until you get it approved! You will receive a physical document in the mail.

You can apply for a sin online, it takes about 2 weeks or so to receive. Or you go to a service canada near you, they can give you one within like 10 minutes or so. But to apply for the sin you will need the document that you get in the actual mail.

It's an inland application btw. Did spousal + work permit both inland. Dunno if that changes anything?
Did you already land? Or you just got the OWP that was sent in with your inland spousal sponsorship application approved?
