Hello!

My name is Lonnie and I'm applying for jobs within Canada specifically Winnipeg attempting to obtain a job offer. I'm currently living in the US but i lived in Manitoba for about 3 years because i was there on a study permit at the U of M and got my bachelors degree. My study permit expired and back home but i have good friends up there whom i can live with in Winnipeg in case i get a job offer.

I've been applying for jobs in Winnipeg nonstop and i was wondering if anyone has had experience getting a job offer even though your not in Canada and obtaining a work permit and stuff. I'm just worried because there are many jobs that i qualify for and i just started applying for alot and im hoping they allow me to do like a phone interview or something and i can get a job offer so that i can move back to winnipeg and obtain a work permit. Anyone have any experience in this or tips?

The only advice I can offer is just keep applying and hopefully you'll get lucky. Unfortunately many employers aren't willing to consider foreign workers because it takes so much time/paperwork to hire them. They also have to seek approval for the government first and these requests are sometimes denied. If you have specialized skilled, that should make it easier. Good luck!

I'll keep trying. Hopefully something will come through. I'm also going to apply for the MPNP for Manitoba and that will make things alot easier for me if i get accepted through the general stream. I'll keep apping for jobs. When i went to get my study permit for the U of M i got it the day i flew into winnipeg at the port of entry. I could probably do the same for the work permit. Just gotta find somebody whos willing to do the whole paperwork thing.

I've been seeking applications thru Saskatchewan and various provinces most of the time and i cant seem to fete any response. is it possible to seek visitor visa and resume applications while in Canada? is it possible to change status while in Canada or i need to go back to my home country?
