Work Permit From Dubai, UAE.

Hi All,

so my lawyer submitted yesterday my ICT WP LMIA exempted (including my wife open WP, my kids student permit), I'm moving from a big international company from UAE to Canada for a senior manager position (Managing professionals and functions )...my lawyer told me it will take between 5 to 8 weeks...and on the CIC website it's mentionned 21 weeks...do you guys have an idea how long it will take? i will be based in Quebec.

Hi there,
Yes, the processing time for WP in UAE is 21 weeks as of 21-May-2019. If you look at my signature, mine is already at 20 weeks today but I have no update yet, no Medical Request yet, nor update in my online status. Goodluck. Just so you know too, its holiday in UAE from June2-10.

No holidays start from 5 of June till 10 June its mentioned on Abu Dhabi website

Thanks a lot , hope you will get it next week or just after public holiday! Was it an ICT for you or a new company ? Do we need also a medical test when we apply from UAE?
Not sure my futur boss will wait for 5 months (I saw some others getting their visa in 4 to 6 weeks from dubai )

I applied on 7 of may 2019 on paper for work permit with my wife and 2 kids after15 days they us and asking the proof of children school name in Canada and whole study plan is it normal or any doubt ful situation I send all the documents which they want hopefully tomorrow embassy use received I am waiting for positive reply hopefully inshallah

Hi there,
I am applying as a Caregiver. As far as I know, all Work Permit applications require Medical Request. However, this is what I found in the website. "Some temporary foreign workers will need to have a medical exam. This depends on the job you plan to do in Canada. Below are examples of such jobs. This list does not include every possible job.

1. Jobs that bring you into close contact with people at risk, such as: • workers in health sciences • clinical laboratory workers • people who attend to patients in nursing and geriatric homes • medical students going to university in Canada • medical electives and doctors doing short-term assignments • teachers • domestics • workers who give in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled • daycare workers

Applied originally at Canadian High Commission in India (our lawyers thought process will be faster lol) (9 weeks from India, 39 weeks from UAE avg processing time)

Hi there! Same case here! I am applying as caregiver from Saudi Arabia. I submitted my application online last April 29,2019. Finished my medical and biometrics also. Until now no response yet. Last 2 weeks when I checked my cic account for the processing time it was 6
Weeks only but when I checked today it says there 9 weeks.
What I know from Dubai, UAE the processing time for the work permit is 3 months. But don’t know if they changed it already. You can check also through your account.
Aside from the web, is there any options we can find out what’s going on and how long to wait for our visa?TIA to those who will answer
