Hi all,
I am German citizen and have accepted a job offer from a Canadian university to be a postdoctoral fellow. After reading through several websites, I am a little confused as to what forms and documents are needed.
Some info upfront: I am going to receive my PhD from a US university and my partner is a US Citizen.
1. I have read some websites that state that we need an LMO for my partner, while others say we don't. Do I need an LMO for my partner if she gets her work permit through me as a common-law partner?
2. Will I need a police certificate for just Germany or also the US? I have lived in the US for the past 9 years as a student.
3. I was told I could get the work permit at the border when I enter Canada from the US. Should I do this or should I get my work permit at a Canadian consulate in the US?
Thanks
