Hi Folks,

I am asking if it is possible to apply for work permit to work off-campus as a full time, given that I am a full time student and I have a job offer ?
Also, I can to convert to part time study if I joined the work.

Thanks

If you want to work full time - you'll need an approved LMIA (a job offer isn't enough). Your employer is the one who will have to secure the LMIA.

If you do manage to get a work permit, you'll have to stop studying.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am assuming you meant that I need to stop full time study, right ?
Assume that I have a job offer and an approved LMIA. And at the same time, I can manage to switch to a part time study in my university. So what is the situation of my study permit ?
In other words, I want to know if the following sequence of steps that should I do make sense:

1. Apply to CIC for a work permit with the job offer and the approved LMIA.
2. Will CIC cancel my study permit in this case ? If not, how to tell them that I want to switch to part time study instead of full time study ? Is that doable ?
3. Switch to part time study (in my university).

Thanks in advance

1. To reiterate what Syclla if/when you get the LMIA/Work Permit you must STOP all studying either full time or part time.
