Work Permit Extension

Dear Members,
I am from India and currently working in Winnipeg. My work permit is going to expire on 10th January 2018 and VISA on 19th December 2017. I am going to apply for an extension of my work permit and VISA.

I have a doubt regarding the application process: whether I can apply simultaneously for both work permit and VISA or first I will apply for work permit extension and after receiving my work permit, I will apply for VISA.

Kindly suggest me what is the right method to follow for the VISA application.

first apply for the work permit
then when you get your work permit apply for visa

when does your passport expired?

Thank you for the prompt reply.
My Passport is valid up to 2022. I am little worried about my VISA application as I am going to India on 12th November 2017. I have only two months in my hand, during this limited time, whether I will get both my work permit and VISA.
