Work permit extension with LMIA

Hi there
I am in restoration period right now. But I got positive LMIA. So now I want to apply for my work permit.
If I apply by online it will take atleast 3 months. I want to save time. Some one told me that I can apply at Niagara Falls border. It will save me time. As my company need me back ASAP.

1. Is it a good idea ?
2. Does any one have same experience ?

I will really appreciate it if you could guide me.

Since you are out of status in Canada, you can only apply at the border if you hold a visa exempt passport.

Then you can't apply at the border but through an embassy in India.
