Work permit extension question

Hi,

I have a question regarding work permit extension of my wife.

I hold a valid PGWP work permit and my PR application is currently under process. I am also working in a job under NOC O,A,B categories.

My wife is in Canada and her open work permit is going to expire on 31-March.
she has applied for her work permit extension based on my PGWP permit but it is still under process.

My question is what would happen if she doesn't hear back by 31 March? Is there any other thing that I may try like flagpolling (don't have much idea about this) etc..?
What if just in case her work permit is rejected after 31 March?

1. She has implied status until she receives a response from IRCC.

Thanks for your reply. And what if just in case, it is rejected.

Will we get some grace period to reapply or will she require to leave Canada on immediate basis?
