Work Permit Extension on AIPP

Hi there, I'm in a pretty weird predicament right now. I'm currently waiting for my Permanent Residency to be approved through the Atlantic Immigration High-Skilled Pilot Program (just sent in my medical so I would safely say I'm in the latter stages). My current Post-Grad Work Permit expires in 2 and a half months (May 18) and will have to fly home May 3rd and fly back the week after. I doubt they'll let me into Canada if my TRV expires within a few days.

I was hoping to get a work permit extension but I'm not eligible for a bridging open work permit as I'm an AIPP applicant and I also cannot extend my post-graduate work permit. So I feel completely stuck.

Is there any visa I can apply for preferably while I'm still in Canada that will let me enter after my trip home?

Good evening,

Since you have received your endorsement from the province you can email them and ask for a work permit referral letter. Your employer will also need to give you an lmia exempt number that they will get by posting your offer through the portal (if they haven't done so already) and paying the compliance fee of $260.
You will then need to complete the application and enter the lmia exempt number on the application form.

You will be able to apply for a work permit but the process usually takes long. I have friends who got their pr before the work permit.

Traveling while this process is in place is usually not advised because it will be up to the discretion of the border agent to allow you back into the country or not.

With all of that said, I would suggest that you hold off on traveling until you get your PR.

Hi!

How are you doing? May I ask how's your application going? I am currently on the same situation as yours.

Thanks

Call RICC 2 times, Send email 1 times. they are telling me still work on my background check.

The bad news is my PGWP will expire in April. They told me should be finished the whole program in 6 months but look like they are not. So I think I should start to get my work permit done.
